- My friend Nita introduced me to YJ in May 2008 as I was struggling with keeping my immune system up and staying healthy while training for my next running event. The timing was perfect- I was entertaining the idea of looking for another activity/job to give me some extra income (to fund my handbag addiction :) ) but also to allow me to have a new passion for something, and to meet new like minded people. Well... YJ is all that and some! I am really excited to start my journey towards improved health and happiness and looking forward to what may come within this new chapter in my life.
- About Me:
- I am a Registered Nurse at the Colon Cancer Screening Centre in Calgary. My work environment and patients are a constant reminder for me to continually maintain a healthy lifestlye, including preventative measures to live happily physically, mentally, and spirtually. I am a very passionate person, and my world is centered around three core values; health, fitness, and family/friends. I have been blessed with excellent health thus far in my life, and plan to continue to optimize my health as much as I can. I have a strong athletic background growing up playing hockey and competitive soccer for 15 years. I have more recently caught the running bug, and I am currently training for my 2nd marathon this fall in hopes of qualifying for the Boston Marathon.
Like many people, I have too many stories of cancer and illness affecting those I love-- my ultimate desire and drive behind my decision to join the YJ family is to help those people in my life and those I meet in the future by providing them with a gift of prevention and good fortune, so they can lead healthy and happy lives!
